Meet the DDA Board: Stephanie Elowsky
How long have you been involved with the DDA?
What do you love about the community?
“Everything! It’s home.”
Stephanie describes Ortonville as having that rare “up north” charm while still being close to the city — a blend that makes it feel both peaceful and accessible.
Having lived here for nearly her entire life, she knows firsthand what makes Ortonville special: the people.
“Everyone takes care of each other, watches out for each other’s kids, helps when and where they can help — and often times with a smile.”
After moving away, Stephanie ultimately found her way back home — a testament to the lasting pull of a community that truly supports one another.
What do you hope to accomplish as a DDA board member?
Stephanie is currently involved in several key projects aimed at revitalizing Downtown Ortonville. Her focus is on listening to what residents want and need — and turning those ideas into reality.
“I hope to continue to see through the projects I’m already working on, some of which include revitalizing our small downtown and bringing to our residents the things they want and need.”
Beyond the work itself, Stephanie sees her role as a way to lead by example.
“I think it’s good to give back and volunteer, and I hope my kids see that and do the same as adults themselves. It’s part of what I believe makes a community strong!”
