This grant offers up to $2,500 to help fund storefront improvements, business development, and local events that enhance the economic vitality and appeal of our historic downtown.

What Is the MSOC Genisys Credit Union Grant?

This program is part of Genisys Credit Union’s ongoing support of Main Street Oakland County communities. Grants are available to downtown businesses and community organizations within officially recognized Main Street communities—like Ortonville.

Through this grant, you can receive financial support for projects that drive visibility, foot traffic, and business success, all while aligning with your community’s revitalization goals.

What Can the Grant Be Used For?

Eligible projects include—but are not limited to:

  • Storefront Improvements: (signage, window displays, lighting, awnings, outdoor furniture)
  • Marketing & Promotion: (branding, social media campaigns, digital advertising, website upgrades)
  • Events & Activations: (pop-up events, sidewalk sales, community programming, seasonal attractions)
  • Business Development Tools: (training, consulting, software, or technology that supports growth)

All projects must be aligned with the goals of Ortonville’s Main Street efforts and show clear benefit to the downtown business district.

How Much Can I Receive?

  • Up to $2,500 per project
  • dollar-for-dollar match is required (e.g., spend $2,500, receive $1,250 in grant funds)
  • Grant funds are reimbursed after project completion
