Downtown Ortonville thrives thanks to the dedication of community leaders like Courtney McClerren. Serving as the President of the Downtown Development Authority (DDA) Board since 2018, Courtney has been instrumental in shaping the vision and direction of our downtown.

How Long Have You Been Involved with the DDA?

Courtney joined the DDA Board in 2018 and has since taken on the role of President. Her leadership has been pivotal in driving initiatives that enhance the vibrancy and appeal of Downtown Ortonville.

What Do You Love About the Community?

"What I love most about Ortonville is the strong sense of community—neighbors who look out for one another, people who come together in times of need, and a shared spirit that makes you feel like you're part of something truly special. It's a place where kindness is a way of life and support is always just around the corner."

What Do You Hope to Accomplish as a DDA Board Member?

"I hope to help create a downtown that the Ortonville community is proud of, where people want to spend their free time, and I hope that what we do at the DDA will have a lasting positive impact on the lives of those who live in the community."

Beyond her role with the DDA, Courtney is deeply involved in community initiatives. She serves as the Executive Director of the Brandon Prevention Coalition, focusing on youth substance abuse prevention. With a Master's degree in Public Administration from the University of Michigan and a strong background in community engagement, Courtney brings a wealth of experience and passion to her work.
