What is Main Street America Accreditation?
Every year, the Ortonville Downtown Development Authority (DDA) participates in a rigorous evaluation to maintain its status as a Main Street America Accredited program. This accreditation signifies that our community is meeting high standards of excellence in revitalizing our downtown and fostering sustainable local development.
On January 14th, Ortonville will host its annual on-site Accreditation visit, during which a team of evaluators will assess our DDA’s work based on six key standards established by the Main Street America Community Evaluation Framework. These standards measure everything from community engagement to program sustainability and are crucial for ensuring the continued success of our downtown revitalization efforts.

What to Expect During the Accreditation Visit
Throughout the day, the evaluation team will meet with a variety of community representatives in scheduled time blocks. This is a fantastic opportunity for Ortonville stakeholders—including business owners, residents, and local leaders—to share their thoughts, experiences, and visions for the future of our downtown.
